Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How do I join?
A: It's easy - Become a member of our facebook group. This is where we list upcoming club events, such as our weekly meetings and our club parties. This is also our main forum for discussion outside of meetings. When you join the group, all we ask is that you post on the wall and introduce yourself, lurkers will not be tolerated!

Don't have facebook? Too bad for you.

Q: Do I have to be a member to attend meetings and events?
A: Nope! There is no official process for joining our club. Our meetings are open to all
UW registered students. You will have to join our facebook group to view our meeting calendar and receive updates, but there is no obligation to stay in the group if you decide it's not for you. Everyone is welcome to stop by a meeting and try us out. For parties/events however, we restrict the guest lists to members who are active participants and have been to at least a few meetings. Stick around and you too will be invited to our infamous parties.

Q: How much does it cost to join?
A: Our club is free to join! (But, if you've got some money burning a hole in your pocket, we most definitely accept donations). Meetings are always free to attend, some club events have a $3-5 admission charge.

Q: I'm not a UW student. Can I still come to meetings?
A: Probably. Because we are an officially recognized registered student organization and most of our meetings are held on campus, we have to follow the university's restrictions on off campus guests. In the past, most non-students have been welcome at our meetings, but please contact either our club President or Vice President and get the go ahead first.

Q: I don't really know much about metal, can I still join?
A: Sure! We always welcome newbies (for dinner!), and would love to help you learn more about metal culture and introduce you to some excellent music. But, please understand that we are serious about our music, we are fans of true metal, and if you aren't willing to learn and just want to talk about pop/rock, then this might not be the best fit for you.
